Profile
Dagmar-Coester-Waltjen is professor emeritus at the Georg-August University Göttingen. She held the Chair of German, European and International Private and Procedural Law.
Her research focuses on civil law, especially family law, national and international civil procedural law, in the field of international private law and comparative law.
She has been awarded the Federal Cross of Merit with Ribbon as well as the Bavarian Order of Merit. She is also the recipient of the Werner Heisenberg Medal (2011) and an honorary doctorate from the University of Zurich.

Profile
Volker Lipp is a full professor at the Georg-August University of Göttingen. He holds the chair of civil law, civil procedure law, medical law and comparative law.
His research focuses on civil law, in particular family and guardianship law, medical law, civil procedure law, and international private and procedural law.
He has been deputy chairman of the Betreuungsgerichtstag e.V. (BGT) since 2010, member of the maintenance commission of the Deutscher Familiengerichtstag e.V. (since 2014), co-editor of the series "Schriften zum Familien- und Erbrecht" (Publications on Family and Inheritance Law) edited by Elisabeth Koch, Volker Lipp, Karl-Heinz Muscheler, Nomos: Baden-Baden from 2010), co-editor of the journal "Medizinrecht" (Medical Law) and regular member of commissions on the reform of the law of guardianship. He holds an honorary doctorate from the Eötvös Loránd University of Budapest.

Profile
Philipp Reuß is Full Professor of Civil Law, Civil Procedure Law, Private International Law and Comparative Law at the Institute for Private and Procedural Law of the Faculty of Law of the Georg-August-University Göttingen.
His research focuses primarily on family law, European law of descent, European private law, European private international and civil procedure law, and comparative law.
He has been a member of the Children's Rights Commission of the German Family Court Conference since 2023, the Scientific Association for Family Law, the German Society for International Law and the Society for Comparative Law. His postdoctoral thesis on family law was awarded the 2019 Foundation Prize of the Institute for Basic Research in Family Law of the Gerd Brüdermüller Foundation.

Prof. Dr. Eva Schumann
Chair for German Legal History and Civil Law
Profile
Eva Schumann is a full professor at the Georg-August University of Göttingen. She holds the Chair of German Legal History and Civil Law at the Institute for Foundations of Law.
Her research focuses in family law primarily on the law of parent and child, the effects of reproductive medicine on the law of parentage, legal relationships in non-marital cohabitation/families, and in family procedural law on child cases. She also conducts research on issues of gender difference, family policy, and recent family law history.
She is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board for Family Issues at the Federal Ministry of Family Affairs and was a member of the working group "Parentage Law" (2015-2017) and the working group "Right of Care and Access" (2018-2019), both of which were commissioned by the Federal Ministry of Justice to develop reform proposals for family law. She is or was involved in several interdisciplinary third-party funded projects with family law issues.

Profile
Barbara Veit is a full professor at the Georg-August University of Göttingen. She holds the Chair of Family Law at the Institute for Private and Procedural Law.
Her research focuses on family law, in particular the law of parental custody and guardianship law.
She has been a member of the Children's Rights Commission of the German Family Court Conference (Deutscher Familiengerichtstag) since 2009 and has been its chairperson as well as a board member since 2019. From 2013-2020, she was a member of the interdisciplinary expert group on guardianship reform appointed by the Federal Ministry of Justice. She is co-editor of the series "Studies on German and International Family and Inheritance Law" (edited by Martin Lipp, Christoph Bennicke, Marina Wellenhofer, Bettina Heiderhoff, Barbara Veit).
